Plan Expected to be Submitted in the Near Future to Move toward Re-Opening Tulare Regional Medical Center
Tulare, Calif., November 6, 2017— Wipfli/HFS Consultants on behalf of The Tulare Local Healthcare District announces that it anticipates submitting a plan in the near future to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to move toward re-opening Tulare Regional Medical Center.
In order for the plan to be ready for submittal, the District Board needs to complete the application process, which includes moving the license out of suspension. In addition, CDPH will need to approve that all eight basic services of the hospital are qualified and ready to provide quality services.
When it is approved to reopen the hospital, Larry Blitz will be the designated interim CEO and Dan Heckathorne will be the designated interim CFO.
The Tulare Local Healthcare District Board of Directors will hold a joint meeting with the City Council on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017 at 6:00 pm at 475 N M Street in Tulare. The meeting will include a discussion between the Board of Tulare Local Healthcare District and the Tulare City Council regarding if and how the City may assist the Hospital Board with any current needs.
